Based in Yorkshire, Harris Occupational Health is a family run business providing a wide range of high quality Occupational Health services, lead by its founder Dr Paul Harris.
We have experience across a variety of sectors including healthcare, education, fire and rescue, construction, service industries, local government, manufacturing, engineering and professional services.
Dr Harris is an Associate of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine. Aside from his independent practice, he is lead Occupational Health Physician at both Airedale NHS Foundation Trust and Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust.
Being a small independent provider, Harris Occupational Health is able to offer a highly personalised service that is responsive to your needs, has the ability to quickly turn around high quality reports and provide continuity of advice.
Following an independent assessment of an employee we provide clear and easy to understand advice regarding the impact of an employee’s health on work and fitness for their role, the impact of work on their health and any implications under the disability provision of The Equality Act 2010.
Advice enabling you to make sure a new employee is fit for their proposed role, and any necessary adaptations the organisation may wish to consider.
With detailed knowledge of a range of pension schemes including the NHS Pension Scheme, Teachers Pension Scheme and Local government Pension Schemes, we are able to offer high quality advice for those employees who may be unable to remain in work due to a long term health condition.
Dr Harris holds the certificate in Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS) issued by the Faculty of Occupational Medicine enabling him to carry out Tier 4 HAVS assessments.
Dr Harris is appointed by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) under the Ionising Radiation Regulations and Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations. This allows him to carry out the required medicals enabling your organisation to meet its legal requirements. He can carry out both licensed and non licensed asbestos medicals.
We are able to carry out a variety of medicals to ensure employees in safety critical industries are fit to carry out their duties.
Visits to workplaces can be arranged if required to assess an employee within the workplace.
We offer face to face or remote consultations, via video link or telephone. We are happy to discuss your individual requirements so that an employee can be assessed using the appropriate platform, with minimum disruption. Face to face consultations are currently conducted from clinical rooms at a modern purpose built health centre just outside Keighley, West Yorkshire.
